Katelyn Mroczek

Katelyn Mroczek, 2025- (Current)

Katelyn is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology in the School of Agriculture, Biomedicine, and Environment, with over a decade of teaching experience. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a Bachelor of Biological Sciences (Hons), a PhD, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. Now in a Teaching Focused role, Katelyn is passionate about engaging undergraduate students, particularly in laboratory settings. Her research centres on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), where she emphasises innovative assessments and Universal Design for Learning, viewing students as partners in this collaborative effort. An active member of the Australian Society of Microbiology, Katelyn serves on the committee of the Education Special Interest Group and has presented her SoTL work at both national and international conferences. She is also a Microbiology Society UK Champion, focusing on antimicrobial resistance awareness. Katelyn teaches across all undergraduate levels in Microbiology, supervises honours students in SoTL projects, and is keen on collaborative projects that advance educational research and practice.
