EduCon is an annual educators' meeting convened under the auspices of the Australian Society of Microbiology (ASM). Join us in Melbourne for the 13th EduCon, bringing together educators and leaders in Microbiology and related sciences for scholarly presentations, networking, and meaningful discussions on contemporary teaching and industry-focused topics.

EduCon 2026 embraces the full spectrum of innovative teaching practice—from authentic assessment and sustainable pedagogy to student partnerships and inclusive learning design.
This year, we shine a particular spotlight on teaching and learning in the era of artificial intelligence. We'll explore innovative learning design, assessment integrity, and strategies for preparing future-ready microbiology students.
EduCon provides opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning aimed at strengthening teaching design and delivery across our community.
Present and Publish
We're pleased to announce a special education-focused issue of Microbiology Australia (November 2026) titled "In the Era of AI: Approaches for Learning and Teaching in Microbiology." We encourage EduCon presenters to develop their work for publication in this special issue.

EduCon 2025 is an annual educators' meet under the auspices of the Australian Society of Microbiology (ASM). We warmly welcome you to Adelaide for the 12th EduCon event.
EduCon is ideal for teaching and research academics, education-focussed academics, education-researchers, research-focussed academics with teaching duties, and leaders in Microbiology (& related science) education. This includes those from universities, research institutes, TAFE, schools, colleges and education industry partners. EduCon provides plenty of opportunities for presentations, networking with educators from Australia and beyond, and meaningful discussions on current teaching-industry focussed topics.
